PBIS This Week
Although we like to focus on our positive behavior, there are times that we do need to give consequences. Without being able to take away recess or social lunch time, sometimes it can feel like you have no options. This article gives some ideas of consequences that are logical and connected to the misbehavior and, therefore, more meaningful.

What I've Been Thinking About…

Below is a cool picture showing how students in one particular classroom are learning! This is a great way to show there are many ways to learn!!

**********************************************************
Six Day Count
Today all homeroom teachers will complete their Sixth Day Count Sheet. This sheet is exactly like the third day count and is EXTREMELY important! The form, along with your official class list were both placed in your mailboxes on Friday. Extra copies of the 6th Day Count Form are attached to the board in the mailroom. Please staple your class list to the form and TAPE the both sheets to the outside of your door no later than 8:30 AM Monday morning.

Please still take attendance in TAC.

We appreciate everyone for following directions and helping us get this done smoothly and efficiently!!

Verifying Schedules for Homeroom Teachers
Homeroom teachers will verify their class lists for each subject area (Reading, ELA, Science, Math, Social Studies) on Monday. Administration will come around to each classroom Monday morning to deliver the class lists.
Throughout the day, you will verify all of the students in your classroom during each content block.

If you have questions, please email Ms. Alexander.

Transportation Tags
All students should have a tag on their bookbag which signifies how they get home each day. Sticker labels were placed in each homeroom teacher's box last week so please make sure to place these labels on your students' tags.

We really appreciate your help and support with this!!!

STAR Testing and Response to Instruction Plan
STAR Math and Reading testing will begin on August 24th. I will do my best to schedule assessments to match the content time (STAR Reading during your reading block), but I may need to put a couple of classes at other times. I will get the schedule to you early Tuesday. Please let me know if there are any conflicts.

Once our first screening is complete, we will officially begin RTI. I will need your help to know which interventions are being used and how the data is being collected. We will have some new avenues for data collection and storage this year, and I would like to help make it easier and manageable. Since I am new, things may be a bit bumpy at first, and I appreciate your patience.
