Congratulations to Lacey Hawkins and her husband as they will welcome their first child this July!!! We are so happy for Lacey and can't wait to meet the precious child in July!!!!

Farewell But Not Goodbye          
As many of you already know, Rhodope Fear's last day will be tomorrow. Rhodope has put her heart and soul into High Point. Her love and dedication to our parents, students, and staff has been greatly appreciated and seen as a true asset to our school. We cannot thank her enough for her many years of service at High Point and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors. Please stop by the front office to wish her farewell!

The timeline for report cards is as follows: 

* Grades are due TODAY by 4:00 pm
* Drafts of the report cards will be printed and placed in mailboxes by 8:00 am tomorrow.
* Report cards should be checked by the homeroom teacher and one other staff member and returned to the assigned Admin's box by 3:00 tomorrow. Corrections should be made in TAC.

Guided Reading PLC               
This Wednesday's Guided Reading PLC will be canceled due to the CLC Principal's Meeting. The coaches and CST will be a part of the walkthroughs on this day.

CLC Walkthroughs                   
This is a friendly reminder to have all lesson plans posted Monday morning before 8:00 am as we are pulling and printing them for the Central Learning Community Walkthroughs. 

The CLC support staff and principals will be coming into your classrooms on Wednesday, January 9th anytime from 9:00-10:30 to see all the wonderful things you are doing. Please make sure you let your students know as we do not want to interrupt learning when we come in.

4th/5th Grade Spelling Bee                   
Congratulations to Chloe Whitaker who won the 4th and 5th Grade Spelling Bee last Friday!!!  Chloe will represent High Point in the County Spelling Bee which will be held in February!! If Chloe cannot attend, Quentin Stout will go in her place and the second place runner up. Congratulations to all our students for a job well done!!

iReady and Fastbridge Assessments         
The following assessments will be given when we return from break: 

*iReady Reading - 3rd-5th Grade in the Computer Lab beginning January 9th 
*iReady Math - 3rd-5th Grade in the Computer Lab beginning January 9th
*Fastbridge aReading and aMath - All Kindergarten students
*Fastbridge aReading and aMath - 1st-5th grade students who scored a 30% or below on their August Screener
*Fastbridge aMath - students in 1st-5th who scored an 80% or higher on the August Screener (for advanced placement) 

Fastbridge will be done in the classrooms by the classroom teachers. More information to come. 

iReady will be in the computer lab and teachers will get a schedule this week. Thanks!!

Highlights: A huge shout out to the assistants and paraprofessionals who have been supporting teachers and students with Seesaw. Having your support is so helpful in getting students motivated and providing extra time to practice skills. Calling All Trash Bashers!              
Please sign up your class to pick up litter around our campus for a week.  They can do this at recess, a brain break or even for an academic (writing or I.B) activity.   Be creative and send pictures or activities your class participate in for keeping our campus clean.  We will post them on the morning news.

The sign up will be on the door by our mailboxes.   Also, if you have plastic bags leftover from the grocery store Megan Eigel will be collecting them.

Writing Benchmark Assessment - Grades 3-5                               Students in 3rd-5th grade will be taking the WriteScore Write Assessment this week. They will be taking the assessment in their classrooms and will be utilizing other grade level's computers to make it happen. Thank you for your patience while we given this important assessment.
