Welcome Back!
We know Mondays are hard; especially the one after a long break!!! We are glad to have you back and ready to tackle the last 34 days!!!

*************************************************
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations to Marley Sapp on her recent engagement to her fiance Spencer West!! We are very happy for both of them!

Parent Placement Form
Parent Placement Forms have been placed at the front desk and on the school's website for parents if they would like to give input on their child's class for 2019-2020. If you have questions, please ask Sheri Hess.

*************************************************
GMAS Next Week
Georgia Milestones State Assessment for 3rd and 5th grade students begins NEXT WEEK! While only two grade levels are taking this assessment, we know it affects everyone!

Testing will occur each day from 8:00 until approximately 10:00. An announcement will be made each day when testing is over so that classes know when they can go outside. Please refrain from going outside until an announcement is made.
Please also keep students quiet in the hallways during transition times as there will be testing in the computer lab, media center, and throughout the entire building.

Specials and lunch schedule will stay the same.

*************************************************
PKES
PKES employees: please complete your Self-Assessment between now and April 30th. All PKES summative assessments will be completed in May and conferences will be scheduled. For questions, please see Pitchford or DiBartolo.

*************************************************
New Playground
Beginning April 1st, Fulton County will be removing and installing new playscapes here. All three of our current playgrounds will have safety fencing around them to allow students to continue playing on the field and blacktop. The construction will occur for a few weeks and students will not be allowed on the playgrounds afterwards to allow the playscapes to settle and the grass to take hold. We appreciate your help keeping students away from these areas for the next two months.

*************************************************

Schedule: See my schedule for the month of April picture below!

Schedule: I will be supporting High Point virtually on Monday 3/25, Tuesday 3/26 as well as Friday 3/29.

Notes: Check out this tip from @Seesaw on Twitter. Differentiation on Seesaw is easy! Have extension - and support - activities for students to work on throughout their rotations by naming activities 'Finished Early?' OR 'Need Help'

Highlights: The week before Spring Break can be kind of crazy, as we will all be antsy for our time off. I can help you keep students engaged throughout next week with some virtual activities - such as a read aloud OR a Google Tour through Springtime destinations.

Mr. D's Dilema

Recently I have been receiving Office Referrals with Think Sheets attached that date back to September. Please remember that with every new semester, the Think Sheet process starts new too. Also, look back at your collected Think Sheets prior to turning them in. Do they all make sense? Are all the Think Sheets signed or at least acknowledged by parents? Did the student complete or attempt to complete their part? Just a few things to think about so we can support you better!

*************************************************
Yes I Can! Winner
Thank you to all who participated and assisted with High Point’s Yes I Can! Award ceremony this past Friday! The students were beaming and everything went off without a hitch. For those of you who weren’t able to attend the ceremony, the overall winner was for our Yes I Can! Award is Makayla Stephens! If you see Makayla in the hallway, please congratulate her on her accomplishments!

Makayla will go on to represent High Point at the Fulton County Yes I Can! Award ceremony where she will have her accomplishments read aloud and will receive a trophy!

The Services for Exceptional Children Team would love NOTHING more, than if you would join us in celebrating Makayla at the upcoming ceremony! The awards typically last around 1 hour and then light refreshments are served immediately after. Makayla has worked so hard and come so far, and she deserves to feel the love and support of her High Point family! Details for the ceremony are below and on the attached flyer. We hope to see you there!

*************************************************
Locking Classrooms
Teachers, please consider locking your classrooms when you leave this Thursday! The building will be open for International Night and the Book Fair and the traffic of individuals back and forth may be heavy!

Please save and donate paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, shoe boxes (amazon boxes about that size, too) and any thing that you can imagine using in a creative craft!!  Our students are inquiring into the use of everyday objects and how creativity can change the way they function!  Share your recyclables with us and we'll share our creative uses of them with you!!!

We are scheduled to receive two new playscapes beginning April 2nd! The one playscape by Kindergarten/5th grade will be removed and two new playscapes will be placed where the other two sit currently.
Students will still be able to play on the field and the basketball court but there will be fencing placed around the three playscapes after spring break and students will not have access to them.
The company is installing them now because it will take two months to install and then we have to keep students off of the new playscapes and sod for 60 days. It will be ready to go for the first day of school next year!!!!
Thanks for your patience and support during this construction phase. Please email Pitchford with any questions or concerns.
