PreK and 1st-5th can enjoy Kona Ice during their recess time. Kindergarten should go after lunch.
If students bring money, please be cognizant of where they are keeping it (you may want to have a jar or drawer where you keep their money). We want to make sure the money is safe and secure.
Ms. Midkiff and Mr. DiBartolo will be walking around T-shirts, wrist bands, and certificates Monday morning. Thanks!!!

Learning Targets
Admin did an informal walkthrough last week to observe 1st - 5th grade classes during math.
Out of the 23 classrooms visited, 60% of them had clear Learning Targets posted. Please remember if our goal is for students to take ownership of their learning, they HAVE to know what they are learning specifically and why. It's not enough to just tell them.
Our students should be able to SEE what they are going to be working on each day. While math was observed, this needs to occur for all subject areas. If you have questions, please let your admin rep know.

Parent/Teacher Conferences Begin!
Today is the first day of Parent/Teacher Conferences! The window is from now until October 18th. All conference checklists/forms are posted in each grade level's folder so please make sure they are utilized during conferences. Parent/teacher conferences are a part of the Communication Standard in TKES so please keep record of your conferences.
Also, please make sure you are reaching out to parents in multiple ways to get them to meet with you (Class Dojo, email, text, newsletters, phone calls) because this partnership MATTERS!!!

Student Supports
We appreciate everyone’s willingness to help out and assist when there is a discipline issue. Everyone does a great job of embodying the philosophy that every student is OUR student. With that being said, there are some students who escalate more when adults become involved or the involvement interferes with the data being collected.
Moving forward, we are requesting everyone ask the adult, who is involved in the situation, if they need assistance prior to becoming involved. If the adult requests support, then we appreciate the help. If not, we appreciate you not intervening. If you have any questions regarding this, please see Ashanti Johnson. Thank you!

Yoga at HPES
Friendly reminder that Yoga will be every Tuesday at 3:15 pm in the library – our first class was last week and it was phenomenally relaxing. Each class is $10 and you can pay for multiple classes at one time. Reminders: wear comfortable clothes, bring some water, and come ready to stretch and come ready to give your mind a break!

Crowd Funding Policy
Teachers - Thank you for the time and effort you put into creating a Donor’s Choose or Go Fund Me account for your classroom or grade level. High Point teachers and students have greatly benefited from these platforms!!
Please remember that High Point needs to remain compliant with the State when receiving donations.
FCSS Policy:
"All crowd funding sites (Go Fund Me or Donor's Choose) must follow the fund raising guidelines by completing a fundraising application form Exhibit E39. All crowd funding sites must be set up in the name of the school. The collection of funds must be sent directly to the school by check. The school’s bank information will not be shared with any third party. All items donated will become the property of the school and not the property of the employee managing the account. All crowd funding sites must have an expiration date within that current fiscal year."
Once the Fund Raising Application has been approved, you may create the account/campaign and submit a copy to the Bookkeeper. After campaign is finished, the Financial Re-Cap For School Fundraisers, Exhibit 40, must be completed to close out the campaign and submit all paperwork to Bookkeeper.
Crowd Funding Fund Raising applications are located on the mailroom wall.
