Ready to Go!
Thank you to everyone for all your hard work pulling off an amazing and busy Open House!!! We had a packed school with happy parents and students. Thank you for being welcoming and getting our students ready for today!
I am so excited to start this new school year with everyone and see our students be compassionate, knowledgeable, and inquiring learners who impact our diverse community. I know that by being INTENTIONAL, making learning RELEVANT, and focusing on all RELATIONSHIPS we can live our mission statement!
Good luck today and this week!!!

First Week of School Reminders
- Please make sure you have taped your transportation sheet to your door by 9:00 a.m TODAY so we can ensure every child has the appropriate colored tag on their book bags and knows how they are getting home.
- If you are unsure about how a child gets home, notify someone from admin immediately!
- Take attendance!!! Please use TAC to take attendance as well as fill out the "Attendance Warm-Body Count" that you were given Friday. Please tape to your door by 9:00 a.m as well.
- We have to report attendance to the county on the 3rd, 6th, and 10th day. It's extremely important that you tape each attendance report to your door each morning by 8:30 am!! We will give them to you the day before with a reminder.
- Procedures, procedures, procedures!!! Take the time to explain every expectation from the hallway to the cafeteria this week!
- Please remember to eat lunch with your students for the first two days and use this time to teach your students how to behave and function properly in the cafeteria!
- No meetings will be held this week except for PLCs on Thursday.
- Grade level chairs - please don't forget that all new students will be placed in your rooms until we can assess them and place them appropriately. We appreciate everyone being welcoming and making sure they have a place to sit and a friend to help them.

Cafe Expectations for PBIS
Please teach the following expectations to your class when you sit with them today and tomorrow!
1. Pick up fork, spoon, napkins. FIRST!
2. Food items/milk.
3. Pick up condiments.
4. If students need water, they have to raise their hand and ask a cafeteria monitor if they can get water.
5. Clean up after themselves, both on the table and on the floor.
6. Every student is responsible for gathering all of their belongings and trash before leaving their table area. We want to create a clean table for the next class!
7. If a student needs to use the restroom, they must ask a cafeteria monitor and use 1st grade bathrooms only.
8. Students will be picked up from their lunch tables by the teacher. Assistants will no longer line up students for pick up.

Continuous Learning and Reflection
Each week, I am committed to placing articles, videos, pictures, or information in the Monday Notes that I am reading, seeing, and reflecting upon. If you have any questions or comments about these and would like to talk more, please email me.
We have already started off the year right with Amie Dean and I know that everyone is committed to building relationships this year. The admin team read this article over the summer and I love how it supports our work and reminds us how we can make our students feel welcome each and every day!
