If you want 2017 to be your year:
Don't sit on the couch and wait for it. Go out. Make a change. Smile more. Be excited. Do new things. Throw away what you've been cluttering. Unfollow negative people on social media. Go to bed early. Wake up early. Be fierce. Don't gossip. Show more gratitude. Do things that challenge you. Be brave. - Lessonslearnedinlife.com

ALL certified staff members will be observed on standards #2 Lesson Planning, #3 Instructional Strategies, and #4 Differentiation beginning in January. You will receive feedback from your observation within 5 working days. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your observation, please email the person conducting the observation. They have all been split randomly between Pitchford, Alexander, and Hess. We are very excited to see the wonderful things happening in your classrooms!

STAR Screening Begins
STAR Screening for reading and math will begin on TODAY.
This data is important since it is used for instructional planning as well as
RTI, so please assist me with administering it with fidelity. The reminders
below are very important, so please read carefully:
·
ALL students will test, unless they are required
to take the GAA. If you are unsure, please contact your SPED teachers.
·
ALL students must be present for testing;
support teachers (EIP, ESOL, SPED, FLP) may cancel classes and can join the
testing session to assist as needed.
·
The computer lab will be closed for periods of
time during the month of January. Check the schedule (STAR schedule and Lab
Calendar) for details.
·
Grade levels testing in their homeroom will
administer the assessment while I monitor from the hallway. I will provide the
extra devices as needed.
·
Please make sure your reading and math classes
are correct in TAC.

Congratulations to Kari Lewis who received a Buddy Brag and earned this week and next week's TOTY parking space in the front of the school. We appreciate you Kari and thank you to all the people who took time to appreciate a colleague!!!
We know that the front office restrooms get used more frequently than any other restroom. Because of it's central location, we want to make sure these restrooms remain clean and odor free.
I have purchased two Poo-Pourri citrus scents that will go in each of the front office restrooms. In order to help keep the restroom and the front office area smelling fresh, please spray the Poo-Pourri two to three times in the toilet either before or after you use the restroom.
We hope you enjoy this fragrance and appreciate your help in keeping our restrooms clean and odor free!!!

Recruit Career Day Speakers!!
High Point will host our fourth annual career day on
Tuesday, February 14th. We are seeking parent and community volunteers to
share information about their careers with High Point students on this
afternoon. Volunteers will speak with 1-2 classrooms for 20 minutes each.
Please reach out to friends and family members as well as High
Point parents to encourage them to sign up. Please include the sign up link in
parents newsletter, etc. We need a wide variety of speakers, and there is no
job too boring for this event! I can help speakers figure out a way to make
their career interesting and child friendly. We are also able to skype in
speakers for any out of towners.
Please have speakers visit the following link to sign up:
The deadline to sign up is February 7th.
You all made last year’s event a huge success!! I can’t wait to
