RTI Reminders
RTI Group Charts are due on January 31st. Please check in with all support teachers to make sure all information is updated and correct.
All Tier 3 students must be progress monitored every week,
even if we are in a screening window and/or the week is short due to days off
of school.
Feel free to begin progress monitoring Tier 2 students this
week. It will not affect the screening score.
The Tier 3 deadline is March 3rd. Students will
not move to Tier 3 after this date unless there are special circumstances.
EASY flag clearing will begin in February. Please do not
begin this process until I instruct you to do so.
STAR Screening Reminders
The schedule has changed again due to technical issues,
please review the schedule since the Computer Lab will be closed during testing
times next week.
Please be prepared for your testing time by reviewing the
expectations on the top of the schedule.
The screening window closes on February 7. I hope to print
reports on the 8th and get them to you by the end of the day.

What I've been thinking about...
Recruit Career Day Speakers!!
High Point will host our fourth annual career day on
Tuesday, February 14th. We are seeking parent and community volunteers to
share information about their careers with High Point students on this
afternoon. Volunteers will speak with 1-2 classrooms for 20 minutes each.
Please reach out to friends and family members as well as High
Point parents to encourage them to sign up. Please include the sign up link in
parents newsletter, etc. We need a wide variety of speakers, and there is no
job too boring for this event! I can help speakers figure out a way to make
their career interesting and child friendly. We are also able to skype in
speakers for any out of towners.
Please have speakers visit the following link to sign up:
You all made last year’s event a huge success!! I can’t wait to
see how many speakers we can get this year!!!!!

PBIS
Congratulations to Beth Owens for receiving a Buddy Brag and the front TOTY parking space for the next two weeks!!! Thank you Beth for all you have done for the PBIS committee and thank you to her colleagues for giving her a buddy brag!
What I've been thinking about...
Learning Targets.
The following excerpt is from an article found on the Symbaloo given to us by Kerstin Long. It stated,
"Viewing a learning target as a lesson purpose, coupled with an appropriate performance of understanding and look-fors, is the only way to truly improve learning. Just putting a statement on the board and telling students about it at the beginning of the lesson is ineffective. Learning targets must LIVE in the lesson!"
This is what I believe. There is great power in learning targets to increase learning.
