IB Consultant Visit
We welcome to our school today and tomorrow our IB Consultant,  Jason Osborne, from Beaufort, South Carolina.  He will be meeting with all teachers during planning today!! Pre-K teachers will meet him at noon and Special Area teachers at 2:45 today as well! Please be on time to Lib's Portable for this important but friendly visit!

On Tuesday, he will be visiting classrooms, meeting with parents, students and Admin. Please welcome him warmly!

S.T.E.A.M Day

S.T.E.A.M. Day is this Friday, November 18th.  

**This is an all day, all staff, fun day of exploration!** All support staff schedules will be emailed to you later today. Homeroom teachers should have gotten the STEAM day schedule emailed to them already. As a reminder, specials schedules are the same EXCEPT 4th grade and 5th grade will be switching times.

Please pick up your bins tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15th in the cafeteria at the following times:
* Grades K-2: 7:15-8:00 AM
* Grades 3-5: 2:30-3:00 PM
Perishable items will be brought to your classrooms Friday morning. 

In addition to inspecting your bin to make sure you have everything you need, please test your experiment before Friday as there may be some unforeseen glitches that need to be worked out.  The PTO is more than willing to purchase additional supplies if needed.

Girls on the Run Coach 
Congratulations to our 3rd-5th grade girls who ran the GOR 5K this weekend!!!! They did amazing!!!! And a HUGE thank you to the coaches: Negrin, Todd, Silverman, and Bryson!!!!

Looking for coaches for our Spring Season! GOR begins the week of February 6th and practices are Mondays and Wednesdays (you will only coach 1 of those days).
Girls on the Run 5K will be April 29th at Georgia Tech (end of the season).

Pop Up PD!
LONG will do a Pop Up PD TODAY, November 14th at 3:00 PM in room #123 to explain the STEAM Day challenge process if you need assistance.  She will also talk about the school-level build tournament.

STAR Testing and Progress Monitoring  
  • Renaissance Star® apps on iPad® will no longer be supported. The iPad app will officially stop functioning mid-November with the move to the new technology platform. You can continue using iPads for Renaissance Star assessments, through use of a supported web browser. 
  • Internet Explorer 8: In tandem with Microsoft’s decision to end support for this version of the browser, Renaissance no longer supports Internet Explorer, you must use Chrome or another browser.

PTO Funds
As a reminder, requests for PTO reimbursements must be submitted by November 30th.  
You must be a member of the PTO to be reimbursed for the $150 and will need to include receipts for the items purchased for your classroom. You will be unable to access the Reimbursement Form without a paid ($10) membership.

Please go to: https://highpoint.membershiptoolkit.com/login to log in and access the form.  You will also need to complete the section titled Family Information with your name and address, indicating on the drop down that you are faculty member.   Once you have logged in and completed the information, follow the steps below to complete the form.   
1.       Go to the “My Account” menu at the far right
2.       Click the menu and select the “My Forms/Paperwork” option
3.       Complete and SUBMIT the “Teacher Reimbursement Form”
4.      Once the form is submitted, please send an email to the PTO Treasurer, Meredith Weis (treasurer.hpepto@gmail.com), with an electronic copy of your receipt(s). 

Your check will be mailed within two weeks to your home address.

iReady
3rd-5th grade homeroom teachers:
Please be sure that your Non-ESOL and Non-SPED students have taken their iReady diagnostic before Friday, November 18th.  It takes 2-3 20 minute sessions on the computer. Any questions, contact Sheri Hess.

Donor's Choose
We have been told that companies try to fulfill Donor's Choose requests over the holidays. We encourage everyone who has students to utilize this great program in order to get amazing things for your class! Some of our teachers have already received tables, chairs, and devices!

·    Please remember to clean out all food from the refrigerators and cabinets. Also shut down all computers and devices. 
     Classroom doors should be locked and secure during the holiday break.
