Wendell Olden's last day was this past Thursday. The student he served has moved to another school. Mr. Olden has been surplused to Sandy Springs Middle. We are so sad to lose him, celebrated him as much as possible on Thursday, and hope to get him back next year!!!

Hallways
We have been notified by a few parents that they are surprised at how some staff members are speaking to students in the hallway. They were unsure of who the staff members were which is why this friendly reminder is in the Monday Notes for everyone!
Please remember to keep conversations as private as possible and make sure we are treating our students with respect at all times. We have tons of parents and community volunteers in our building at all times throughout the day and we never want them to be concerned about the way we are speaking to or about any of our students. Thank you!

Attendance Awards
'Attendance Buddy Bucks' equaling $50 will be given out on a bi-weekly basis to students who have perfect attendance for two weeks. We will also have quarterly perfect attendance awards. Please speak with your students about the importance of daily attendance and being on time for school. If you should have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to Vaniesa Hutchins.
Attendance Buddy Bucks will be delivered to your students after the two weeks. Thanks!!

Student Compacts
The Compact will go home with the students on Thursday, Oct. 11th and are due back by Wed. Oct. 24th.   The Compact cover sheet needs to be dated and signed by ALL students, parents and teachers (Except Pre-K).
Parents will keep the Compact and return the signed cover sheet.  ALL Compact cover sheets are to be collected by teachers and then submitted to Mendoza no later than Oct. 29th.  Same procedure goes for new students. We have to have 100% of Compact cover sheets returned to be in compliance with Title I guidelines.
Also, to be in compliance with Title I, the Compacts should be discussed at Parent/Teacher conferences.  Any questions or if you don't receive all Compact cover sheets from your students, please e-mail Mariana Mendoza.

PBIS
*Remember to send Beth Owens the names of two students who displayed PAWS up behavior in the HALLWAY for the month of September.

* We will continue to focus on positive HALLWAY behaviors for the month of October because we still have some progress to make in this area.

*The school-wide HALLWAY expectation is that all students are silently walking on the blue square on the right side of the hallway. Please make sure your class is doing so. If your class is having some difficulty, try having them practice walking silently and reminding them of the purpose of being silent after the students return from break.

DISMISSAL Policy Reminders
*Students must only exit from the front of the school and may no longer enter into the building during dismissal.

*Teachers must walk students to the buses, not just stand at the door. Children are beginning to run down the sidewalk, out the front door, down steps, and in between buses at dismissal. This is a huge safety concern so please remind students to walk and assist them to the buses. Thanks!

We appreciate everyone's flexibility and patience as they finish this necessary assessment. If you have any questions about the content of the assessment, please see Sheri Hess. If you have a technical question about the assessment, please see Richard DiBartolo. Thanks!
