Promethean Planet:
Have you signed up on the Promethean Planet website?  They have started charging for some things but it still has many free downloadable resources!  Register as a member, sign on and check out everything, especially the RESOURCES and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.  You can sort your search for flipcharts by State Standards, etc.

Thank you to all our teachers for working on creating authentic and engaging tasks for students! It's definitely alot more work than making a copy of a worksheet but it is worth all of the hard work and time you put it to it!
 

1^st semester Usage of Our Leveled Readers:

September- 251(Great increase)

October- 178

November- 342 (YIPEE)

December- 70

**Keep using the leveled readers!!!!! These are great numbers!!!!!

PBIS This Week!

 

Thank you to everyone who participated in our PAWS Up Pep Rally last week!!! We appreciate everyone for believing this initiative is best for our students and taking the time to hand out tickets, choose your Students of the Week, writing post-cards, and acknowledging students who are displaying PAWS Up behavior!

Let's continue to focus on our procedures and expected behaviors for the hallway, bathroom, recess, and in the classroom!

Fountas and Pinnell

The next Fountas and Pinnell due date is Thursday, February 13^th. As a suggestion, start with your higher students (now or within the next week) then do your more struggling readers closer to the due date to give them more time to grow. - Sheri Hess

Universal Screening Tidbits

Testing window is open January 14^th –February 4^th

· Teachers please reiterate the importance of test to the students

· Monitor the testing session with fidelity (walk around during the test, monitor the computers, etc..)

· Test will be completed in the computer lab ONLY

· Be sure to keep track of who has taken each test

· Please feel free to contact Tierra or Sheri if you have questions or concerns

Early literacy

· If students took the Early Literacy during the last screening window (Sept.16^th-Oct.2^nd), they must take Early Literacy during this screening window (Jan. 14^th-Feb.4^th) for Renaissance to track the academic growth. If the students’ score 775 or above, both STAR Reading and STAR Math should be also given to the students. In short, the students will take all three assessments.

STAR Math & STAR Reading

· If a students took STAR Reading or STAR Math during the last screening window( Sept.16^th –Oct. 2^nd), they must take STAR Reading and STAR Math during this screening window(Jan. 14^th-Feb.4^th) for Renaissance to track the academic growth.
